Dear Slingerlands Families,
I am honored to be sending this letter as the next principal of Slingerlands Elementary. I am excited to begin to get to know the families and students and to learn more about what makes Slingerlands such a special place. As we begin our time together, it is important for me to recognize the many terrific traditions that have been a part of Slingerlands, while also beginning to build new and exciting experiences together. My goal is to create strong, meaningful and long-lasting relationships with the families and children in our school community.
This summer, I would like to provide an opportunity to meet with you and your children to hear from you and from them directly about what makes Slingerlands so special so we can build upon the strong foundation of this school community.
Initially, there will be three “Meet the Principal” sessions specifically geared to parents and guardians.
I am also eager to get to know all of the amazing students at Slingerlands Elementary. To that end, I will be scheduling a family picnic at the school later in the summer (likely mid-August) so the students can get to know me, and each other, better. Look for more information on that soon. By all means, you may bring your children to the parent sessions if you would like!
Below you will find the schedule for in-person meetings outdoors, on the blacktop, at Slingerlands Elementary as well as an opportunity to meet via Zoom. The two in-person sessions are both weather dependent and rain dates are listed below.
My email address is Abaker1@bethlehemschools.org in case you need to reach me (please take note: the “1” after my name needs to be included). Thanks!
I look forward to meeting many of you in the next couple of weeks, and I wish you a restful and enjoyable summer.
Sincerely,
Andrew Baker
