Date/Time
Thursday, March 2, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Location
Bethlehem Central High School Auditorium
Guest speakers
- Tracy Mance from the Albany County’s Sheriff’s office career has been devoted to awareness and education on youth and parent issues involving impaired driving, drug use and addiction.
- Jen Vitkus from the Addictions Care Center of Albany.
- Ed Sprakers with a drug recovery story.
“This is an important and timely presentation hosted by our PTOs and the students of SADD,” said BC Superintendent Jody Monroe. “The legalization of marijuana in New York State has resulted in changes in the access to and availability of this drug. The school district has seen a marked increase in students having marijuana on school grounds over the last few months. This is a violation of the law and a violation of our Code of Conduct. Parents need to be aware of the risks, responsibilities and consequences involved when it comes to student use of alcohol or drugs, including marijuana. I would encourage parents to attend this presentation.”
