BCHS junior Pamela White competed last night in the national finals of Poetry Out Loud, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation and hosted by poet and author Kwame Alexander. While it was a student from California who took the grand prize, White will receive a prize of $1,000 as one of nine finalists who all delivered incredible recitations. The high school will receive $500 for poetry materials. Congratulations to Pam and thank you to Mr. Andrew Rickert (who organizes Poetry Out Loud at the school level) for bringing us along on the Poetry Out Loud journey.
