A major winter storm is forecasted to impact the Capital District in the next 48 hours. With that in mind, BCSD is making tentative plans in the event that schools must be closed. The District has one “snow day” left for the school year. Based on the forecast, it is possible that snow day could be used on Tuesday, March 14. If Tuesday is a snow day, schools would be closed and there would be no classes. However, any additional snow days that may be needed this year would be remote learning days for students K-12.
Additional info for K-2 Families
In the event that a remote learning day is needed on Wednesday, Mar. 15, students will bring home their fully charged Chromebooks this afternoon.
Teachers will either send home the student’s physical Clever Badge or email the badge to parents. Please remember your child needs to be supervised while using district technology. The Chromebook is only for use in the event that school is closed on Wednesday and should not be used until then. Your child’s device will hold a charge through Wednesday provided it’s only used for the remote learning day.
Updates will be posted and shared regularly
Please watch for regular updates from the school district throughout the duration of the storm.
