At its Dec. 4 meeting, the BC Board of Education recognized several student-athletes for their accomplishments. Each student was presented with an Eagle pin in recognition of their achievements by Board of Education President Holly Dellenbaugh and Superintendent Jody Monroe.
Girls Cross Country
Ranked No. 1 not only in New York State but nationally, the BC girls cross country team sports a perfect 12-0 record in league, invitationals, and Albany County. The team was unable to attend the meeting due to traveling to Oregon to compete in the Nike Cross Nationals on Dec. 7. The Board has invited them to attend a future meeting to receive their pins and recognition.

Girls Golf
The BC girls golf team captured the Section II Girls Golf Championship at the Hiland Park Country Club in Queensbury. Senior Mya Young qualified for the NYSPHSAA Championship and Coach Matt Bixby was named Section II Coach of the Year. Congratulations Mya and Coach Bixby. The team will compete at the state championships in Rochester next June.

Boys Cross Country
BC Boys Cross County team member, sophomore Calvin Howard qualified for the NYSPHSAA Federation Championships. Howard was also named a SC all-star and finished 9th overall in Sectionals. Congratulations to Calvin and Coach Rickert!
Girls Tennis
The BC girls tennis team won their fourth straight Section II, Class AA Championship, defeating Saratoga 5-1, then captured the Sub-Regional Championship with a 7-0 score a few days later. BC then took on Section III Champions, Fayetteville-Manlius, and again the Eagles were victorious winning the Regional Final 7-0, and for the 4th straight season punching their ticket to the NYSPHSAA Championships held at the USTA Center in NYC.
Seniors/double partners Hope Brown & Rayka Kogut also qualified in the NYSPHSAA doubles individual championships.

Girls Dive
BC girls dive team members Ellie Danz and Natalie Hopper qualified and competed for the NYSPHSAA Diving Championships held at the Webster Aquatics Center. Congratulations to Ellie and Natalie!

Boys Soccer
The BC boys soccer team had a great regular season and sectional time saw this team turn it up – dispatching widely believed state favorite and league rival Columbia 2-0 to capture BC boys soccer first Section II, Class AA Championship since 2016. The team wasn’t finished and a week later, in Syracuse, took on Section III Champs and up til that point undefeated Nottingham – same result – a solid 2-0 win and a ticket to the State Final 4 in Middletown, NY. The team suffered a frustrating loss as BC dominated play for the entire first half before dropping a tough decision to Section VI Clarence 2-0.
Senior Muamer Kanic was named Section II Player of the Year. Coach Brian Spina was nominated as Coach of the Year – the winner will be announced on Dec. 8. Congratulations to Muamer and Coach Spina!
