Bethlehem Central Odyssey of the Mind teams performed in the regional tournament on March 2 at Shenedehowa High School. All five district teams scored high enough to advance to the state tournament, which will be held at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse in April.
Odyssey of the Mind is an international problem-solving competition that stresses creative thinking, perseverance and teamwork. Teams must solve one of five problems within an eight-minute skit that includes student-created props, sets, costumes, songs and dances.
The BC teams were coached by middle school teacher Rebecca Beiter and 10th-grade student Sierra Obernesser. Team members are listed below.
Any parent interested in learning more or starting a team for next year should contact the district Odyssey coordinator, Rebecca Beiter at rbeiter@bethlehemschools.org.
