An important message from Superintendent Jody Monroe, Sept. 12

An important message for BCSD families and staff members from Superintendent Jody Monroe…

Dear BC Community,

I understand that many of you are feeling unsettled and concerned following the recent threats made against our school district. These incidents, including the threat made during after-school activities yesterday, which led to a lockdown and a large-scale reunification of students, staff, and coaches, have understandably raised anxiety across our community.

Please know that we are working closely with the Bethlehem Police Department to identify the source of these threats. At this time, the police have not been able to determine who is responsible or where the threats are coming from, but the investigation is ongoing. The increased police presence in and around our school buildings will continue on Friday, Sept. 13.

We are committed to providing as much information as possible without compromising the police investigation, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

In times like these, the support of our community is vital, and I thank you for your continued cooperation. We also ask that everyone be mindful of what is shared on social media, as misinformation can spread quickly. Please rely on official updates from the district posted to ParentSquare or the district website for accurate information.

We take the safety of our students and staff very seriously. Evaluating and enhancing our safety protocols is one of our goals for the 2024-25 school year. We will continue to work diligently to ensure their well-being. Thank you for your support as we navigate this challenging situation together.

Sincerely,

Jody Monroe

Superintendent
