Counseling, Psychological, and Social Services

Overview

This committee helps to provide prevention and intervention services in BC schools that support the mental, behavioral and social-emotional health of students and helps to promote success in the learning process through psychological, social and educational support. In providing individual and group counseling, referrals to school and community support services, and mental health programming, schools officials contribute to the mental and behavioral health of students as well as the health of the school environment by identifying students needs, cultivating school-community-family engagement, participating in school safety and crisis response efforts. This committee ensures that services provided in BC schools reinforce learning and help to align the community with the school environment.
