BCHS student wins regional History Bee, qualifies for national competition

On October 19, Alan Kurd, a grade 9 student at Bethlehem Central High School, competed in the Junior Varsity Division of the National History Bee Regional Tournament in Syracuse.  Kurd earned first place to become champion of the Central New York Fall History Bee.

Alan will compete in the JV National and US History Bee Championships in Arlington, Virginia in spring 2025. Kurd also qualified for the International History Olympiad that will take place in Paris, France next summer.

The National History Bee is a buzzer-based quiz competition for individual students, testing knowledge of the history of all eras and all parts of the world. Learn more about the National History Bee here
