Third phone threat being investigated tonight, Sept. 11

An anonymous phone call to police threatening gun violence tomorrow (Thursday) at both the Bethlehem Central Middle School and Bethlehem Central High School was received tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 11, by the Bethlehem Police Department. This is the third call in 24 hours. The phone call is similar to two others received earlier today and last night (Tuesday).

The Bethlehem Police Department will have additional officers at both schools tomorrow, as well as patrols and personnel assigned to all elementary schools. 

Anyone who may have information related to these incidents is asked to contact the Bethlehem Police Department at 518-439-9973 or call 911. 

Counselors will be in every building, with additional counselors deployed to the high school to assist students impacted by the lockdown this afternoon at the school. 

Staff will follow all safety protocols shared by building leaders per the districtwide safety plan and schools will follow the guidance of the Bethlehem Police Department.
