BCHS rated #1 high school in the greater Capital Region

Bethlehem Central High School has been rated the top high school in the Albany metro area by U.S. News & World Report. The high school was also ranked at #838 in the publication’s national rankings of more than 25,000 high schools across the country.  The rankings were released as part of U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best High Schools list.

The school earned a score of 95.25/100 based on student performance in the following categories: College Readiness – 30%; State Assessment Proficiency – 20%; State Assessment Performance – 20%; Underserved Student Performance – 10%; College Curriculum Breadth – 10% ; and Graduation Rate – 10%.

Bethlehem Central High School was also ranked #191 in the nation in STEM high schools. To determine the top 500 science, technology, engineering and math schools in the country, U.S. News looked at the top 2,000 public schools from the Best High Schools rankings and then evaluated students’ participation and success in Advanced Placement science and math tests.
