On the ballot: Board of Education election

The Board of Education election will take place on Tuesday, May 21 as part of the annual School Budget Vote. Information about the proposed 2024-25 district budget and how you can vote can be found here.

District voters will elect two members to the Board of Education this year. Three candidates will appear on the ballot in the following order:

Lauren Grasso 

Lauren Grasso of Delmar is seeking a first term on the Board of Education. A district resident for 10 years, Grasso is chief risk officer for the NYS Department of Tax & Finance. Grasso is also a parent of two children: a student at Slingerlands Elementary and a student at the middle school.

Katherine Nadeau

Katherine Nadeau of Delmar is seeking a second term on the Board of Education. A district resident for 11 years, Nadeau is deputy director of the not-for-profit Catskill Mountainkeeper. Nadeau is also a parent of two children: a student at Elsmere Elementary and a student at the middle school.

Jason MacLaughlin

Jason MacLaughlin of Delmar is seeking a first term on the Board of Education. A district resident for 2.5 years, MacLaughlin is manager of clinical applications at Berkshire Health Systems. MacLaughlin is also a parent of four children: a college student; two students at the high school and a student at the middle school.

Bethlehem Central School District Board of Education Meet the Candidates Night

Residents of the Bethlehem Central School District have an opportunity to learn more about the three candidates running for the Board of Education as the League of Women Voters of Albany County hosts a Virtual Meet the Candidates Night.
