Beginning with the Class of 2021, eligible students at Bethlehem Central High School will now be able to earn a New York State Seal of Biliteracy. The New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB) recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages, in addition to English.
The goal of the NYS Seal of Biliteracy is to:
- highlight the achievement of multilingual students;
- prepare students with 21st century skills;
- recognize the value of world and home language instruction in our schools; and
- identify high school graduates with language and biliteracy skills for employers or universities.
