The Bethlehem Central School District’s 2023-24 School Climate Survey results are in. More than 600 people participated in the survey. The 78-question survey included responses about school safety, facilities, peer relations, social and emotional support, alcohol and drug use, and school discipline. The 2023-24 survey was open from January 8-26.
“A strong school community naturally develops when staff, students and families feel like they belong,” said Superintendent Jody Monroe. “Supportive schools that foster caring relationships are critical to student engagement, achievement and wellness. This year’s survey data continues to reflect the district’s commitment to establishing a positive and supportive school culture. Each year, this data provides a compass to guide our administrative team in identifying areas that could benefit from a reevaluated approach. In the coming months, our administrative team will use this data to gain an in-depth understanding of how the district can continue to strengthen our school community and best meet the needs of our students, families, faculty and staff.”
The Bethlehem Central School District began using a new student survey in 2022-23 to help the district better address social and emotional barriers to learning. The Pupil Attitudes to Self and School (PASS) survey is administered three times a year and has replaced the School Climate Survey for students.
Parents and staff — both instructional and support staff — answered similar school climate surveys during a two-week period in January. All survey responses can be found below.
