District mourns the loss of Hamagrael Elementary student
Celebration of the life of Myles McAdoo to be held at Bethlehem YMCA on Sunday, July 29, 5 p.m.
The Bethlehem Central School District is
mourning the loss of one of our elementary students, Myles McAdoo,
who was to be a 5th grader at Hamagrael Elementary School in
September.
Myles passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, July 24, after a courageous and lengthy battle with brain cancer.
“Myles was a young man who always had a smile on his face and a positive comment to lift your spirits. He was loved by all of his classmates, our staff and anyone who was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to meet him,” said Hamagrael Principal Dave Ksanznak. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the McAdoo family during this time of mourning.”
In Myles’ honor there will be a “Celebration of the Life of Myles McAdoo” at the Bethlehem YMCA on Sunday, July 29, at 5 p.m. This commemoration of Myles’ passion for life is a child-friendly event and will have cookie stations, balloons and cotton candy. Those attending the celebration are encouraged to wear orange, Myles’ favorite color.
“We often hear about how educators affect the lives of students, but our students touch our lives just as deeply,” said Bethlehem Central Schools Superintendent Thomas Douglas. “This is a tragic loss and Myles will be greatly missed.”
