Congratulations to BC's newly-tenured educators

Nine BC educators received tenure in their current positions at the June 6 Board of Education meeting. Tenure is awarded following a comprehensive review of the individuals' work over a period of years, beginning when they are hired.

“All of the individuals here tonight are just fabulous teachers,” said Assistant Superintendent for Educational Programs Jody Monroe. “We are thankful to have them with us at BCSD – hopefully for the rest of their careers.”

"On behalf of the Board, congratulations," Board of Education President Diane Giacone Stever said. "And thank you for all that you do for the students of Bethlehem Central School District."

The recipients, listed alphabetically with their school and area of tenure, are as follows: Jody Kotlow, Glenmont, Elementary Education; Courtney Longton Glenmont, Elementary Education; Bryan Lynch, Middle School, Science; Anthony Malizia, High School, Business; Maureen Powers, Middle School, School Psychologist; Dena Saburro, Hamagrael, Elementary Education; Kara Saint John, Hamagrael, Special Education; Vanessa Tobar, High School, Foreign Language; Sara Wilkinson, Eagle, Special Education.

The Board's official approval of their tenure status was preceded by a reception for the newly-tenured educators. VIEW PHOTO GALLERY »
