Board honors Dr. Tebbano with ceremonial resolution
The Bethlehem Central School District Board of Education at its meeting Wednesday, Dec. 21, honored retiring Superintendent Dr. Michael D. Tebbano with a ceremonial resolution commemorating his 38 years in education and his time with BCSD as a teacher, principal and superintendent.
“I was on the board of education when we decided to hire Dr. Tebbano for the position of superintendent,” said Board President Diane Giacone-Stever, “and there isn’t a day I don’t think we made the best choice for the district.”
The resolution commends Tebbano for leading the district with "with levity, humility, honesty and integrity" while furthering the district's missions of providing a safe and healthy learning environment. (View the resolution at left.)
The Board presented Tebbano with a framed copy of the resolution, signed by all sitting Board members.
Dr. Tebbano joined the Bethlehem Central School District as the K-12 music supervisor in 1997, after which he acted as interim Principal at Glenmont Elementary School and then became the principal of Bethlehem Central High School in 2002.

In 2004, he became the Assistant Superintendent of the District under retired Superintendent Les Loomis, and became Superintendent of Schools in 2008 after Loomis’ retirement.
Tebbano will retire to Florida with his wife, Sheila, and his dog, Sammy.
